Senior AI Engineer

We're Celonis, the global leader in Process Mining technology, and we're looking for a Senior AI Engineer to join our innovative and fast-paced team at Celonis Garage. The role involves fine-tuning and optimizing large-scale AI models for enterprise applications, collaborating with data engineers, and ensuring high-quality AI-driven automation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s or PhD preferred)
• 5+ years of experience in artificial intelligence, deep learning, or cognitive computing
• Strong expertise in Python, AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch), and AI system design
• Hands-on experience in fine-tuning LLMs (e.g., OpenAI GPT, Llama, Mistral, Claude) and generative AI models
• Experience with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), embeddings, and vector databases
• Deep understanding of AI reasoning, knowledge representation, and explainable AI techniques
• Proficiency in advanced prompt engineering techniques to optimize AI model responses and contextual understanding
• Familiarity with reinforcement learning, decision-making models, and multi-agent AI systems
• Hands-on experience with cloud-based AI services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and distributed AI architectures
• Proficiency in integrating AI with enterprise data sources such as SAP, Salesforce, ServiceNow
• Strong understanding of AI safety, ethical AI, and responsible AI deployment practices
• Familiarity with data engineering best practices, including data pipelines, ETL processes, and stream processing frameworks (e.g., Kafka, Spark, Flink)
