DBA Tech Specialist

Manages and maintains enterprise databases, adheres to database design and security policies, ensures all databases are kept fully functional. Provides support for all applications that use DB2, including application design, SQL coding, performance tuning, backup/recovery strategy, DB2 Client, remote connectivity, security, and troubleshooting.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of hands-on experience with DB2 z/OS within the last 10 years.
• Experience with DB2 z/OS v12 and up.
• Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and maintain databases.
• Solid knowledge of JCL, z/OS, TSO/ISPF
• Experience with DB2 distributed applications
• Experience with SQL performance tuning.
• Solid knowledge of DB2 security features
• Practical experience with DB2 z/OS basic features like utilities, SQL language, packages and plans, access path explain, large objects (LOBs), triggers, stored procedures (native SQL and external), user-defined functions.
• Understanding of various aspects of DB2 z/OS Database Administration.
• Working knowledge of DB2 data sharing.
• Experience with various backup/recovery scenarios.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Strong team collaboration and customer service focus.
• Bachelor of Science degree in a computer science or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Advanced level of proficiency (i.e. good to have):-Experience with the following products:RACF, ACF2 or other security product.
