As a dedicated Director of Risk Management, you will be accountable for the development and mentoring of a high performing team in support of the enhancement and growth of the USAA risk management program.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, or a related field
- 8 years of risk management, regulatory or operations experience in a relevant functional area
- 3 years of direct team lead or management experience
- Advanced risk management experience in a complex institution and/or highly matrixed environment related to banking, insurance and/or financial services
- Demonstrated experience in conflict resolution management and ability to effectively challenge at all levels of management and influence business outcomes
- Experience leading and directing work with both internal and external partners in a highly collaborative environment
- Demonstrated critical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and techniques and decision-making abilities
- Proactively identifies potential concerns and follows-up to resolve issues
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel and PowerPoint
- Solid conceptual/practical grounding in both Compliance and Operational risk stripes, as well as experience developing a Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) methodology and overseeing and monitoring execution for a large organization
- Technology knowledge and experience with system development life cycles and Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) tools such as Salesforce and ServiceNow and ability to translate complex business needs
- US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner
