TopTech Talent is looking for a highly adaptable Application Support Engineer to join our client's team in Columbus, OH. This is a hands-on, onsite opportunity to support critical enterprise applications across multiple platforms, including Linux, Windows, and Unix, while working with modern technologies such as Kafka, AWS, JBoss, and Apache.
Requirements
- Experience supporting applications on Linux, Unix, and Windows environments
- Knowledge of J2EE platforms, including JBoss, Apache, Tomcat, and Kafka
- Hands-on experience with Splunk and at least one monitoring tool: Datadog, Dynatrace, etc.
- Understanding of code deployment and post-deployment automation
- Familiarity with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow (SNOW)
- Proficiency in scripting languages: Bash, Shell, or Python
- Exposure to AWS or any cloud platform
- Awareness of containerized environments (e.g., Docker)
- Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)
- Proactive decision-maker — knows when to act and when to escalate
