Job Description

ArcelorMittal Europe – Flat Products has launched a multi-year plan to phase out its mainframe systems and to modernize the MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) applications, deploying a market solution “PSIMetals”, across several plants in Europe.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated IT Application Manager to join our dynamic D&IT (Digitalization & IT) Manufacturing/Maintenance/Quality department, in the MES CoE (Centre of Excellence) team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of our MES applications.

He will play a key role in ensuring the availability, performance, and security of one of ArcelorMittal’s most important applications to conduct daily business.

Acting as an application administrator, he will be MES CoE single point of contact in front of other IT departments (Infrastructure, network...), targeting system’s reliability according to Group’s standards.

Responsibilities

Installation and Configuration

  • Deploy and configure MES applications to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security compliance.
  • Manage the yearly maintenance plan and conduct necessary upgrade projects, in collaboration with Business stakeholders and ongoing deployments.
  • Collaborate with Business Architects to understand application requirements and provide necessary support.

Monitoring and Maintenance

  • Conduct regular maintenance tasks such as updates, patches, and performance tuning to enhance application stability.
  • Implement monitoring tools to track system / application performance and identify potential issues proactively.
  • Support Business Architects for deploying proactive process monitoring tools (ex: interfaces).
  • Build and deploy an alerting system between our MES landscape and ServiceNow (ArcelorMittal’s incident mgt. tool)

Security and Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with standards and regulations related to application security and data protection.
  • Manage access and authorizations requests in the MES landscape (IT and Business accounts), in a SOx-ready mindset
  • Build and deploy a comprehensive authorization matrix (IT vs Business roles), and support projects needs accordingly.

Troubleshooting and Issue Mgt.

  • Investigate and resolve issues related to application operability, collaborating with Local IT Teams and others (Infrastructure, Network...) as needed.
  • Provide timely and effective solutions to minimize downtime and disruptions.
  • Represent MES CoE during P1 (Priority 1) incident processing.

Documentation

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for application configurations, SoP (Standard Operating Procedures), and troubleshooting steps.
  • Keep documentation up to date with any changes or updates.

Release management

  • Administrate the Release management system and processes, based on Apache SVN tool
  • Provide support / training to projects and developers community

Profile

• Master’s degree in IT, Engineering, Procurement, Finance or Operations management.

• Must be self-motivated, autonomous, highly responsible, and service oriented.

• Min. 5 years’ experience in systems requiring high availability / processing of urgent incidents.

• Knowledge of application deployment / release management models.

• Familiarity with security best practices and compliance standards.

• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Effective communication and collaboration skills.

• Ability to synthetize complex situations to ease decision making by management.

• Ability to adapt the discussion with IT or Business actors, potentially at Senior Management level.

• Ability to interact/manage transversally, in remote teams, with external partners.

• French / Spanish / German could help to ease discussions with mills people.

• Proven experience as an Application Administrator or in a similar role is a plus

• Ability to perform basic tasks in Linux OS is a plus

• ITIL certification is a plus

Requirements Summary
