We are seeking a TS/SCI cleared Senior Storage Engineer for a contract with an Intelligence Community agency in Chantilly, VA. The candidate will design, architect, configure, deploy, upgrade and support various storage and backup appliances and associates management tools.
Requirements
- BS degree and 8+ years of related experience; or equivalent combination
- Hands on engineering experience with NetApp storage, Brocade and/or Cisco Fibre Channel Storage Area Networks, and other storage technologies and concepts
- Experience with SAN, NAS and iSCSI storage implementations
- Experience designing, installing and supporting storage appliances and associated management utilities
- Experience with capacity planning and sizing storage and backup environments
- Experience in performance tuning and optimizing storage and backup environments
- Experience with data center migrations and storage replication technologies
- Senior level experience configuring and deploying various storage platforms
- Strong experience with design, development, implementation, and maintenance of storage systems, preferably across multiple hardware and software platforms
- Experience with managing work tasks via tools such as JIRA and ServiceNow
- Strong experience with design, development, implementation and maintenance of large-scale systems, preferably across multiple hardware platforms and data centers
- Strong understanding of high availability concepts with practical experience and implementation of key components in storage environment
- Strong understanding of fundamental hardware concepts: disk, memory, CPU, NIC, HBA, firmware, RAID, performance concepts (I/O, paging, swapping, system calls), iSCSI, Fiber Channel, Ethernet
- Strong understanding of essential TCP/IP concepts: TCP, UDP, ICMP, SMTP, SNMP, LDAP, DNS, NTP, etc.
- Understanding of security best practices, federal hardening requirements (FISMA, STIG, etc.)
- System configuration based on security guidelines such as DISA STIGs
- CompTIA Security+ or similar for IAT Level II DoD 8570 certification
- Strong written and oral communication skills
